He would have been arrested in Italy or Poland if you ask me.

2009-1977 = 32 years ago.

I didn't realize he blew town because the judge was not going to go along w/ sentencing suggestion from a plea bargain. On the other hand, what he did (doping a 13 yr old) sounds like it merited more than a bargained sentence. Even if the girl has settled, he's definitely earned some time dealing w/ extradition paperwork at the least.

Funny thing about this story, I clicked on it on nytimes.com over the weekend and rather than the story that was supposed to be there, it was an email exchange between a reporter in Switzerland and a bureau person somewhere saying that 'NY' wanted to know if this was Switzerland trying to throw the US a bone so their banking system could catch a break. I don't know if the email exchange was from AP or NYT, but anyway, I'm sure some interesting 'analysis' pieces are taking shape.
