with kids in a trailer.

This weekend I hope to get 4 bikers and 2 trailers on a casual trail maybe near alexandria or even in D.C..

What is a good area to go, been here most my life but don't want to drive half the day looking for areas. Trying to stay off the main roads and stick to the paths, W&OD is not what we are looking for since there isn't much scenery...least not this weekend anyway. Trying to so a short 10-15 mile ride....thanks

It's supposed to rain this weekend. There are some decent rides around the mall. You can park in Rosslyn or on TRoosevelt Island and pick up the trail there. You can head across the Arlington Memorial Bridge to get to the Mall or keep heading down the Mount Vernon trail (make a stop at the park at the end of RR Airport and watch the planes land on your head). Remember, there are not many bathrooms on the mall or decent places to get food.

That's just one option. I know what you mean about W&OD. There are only about 2 sections that I like.

Check out the Bike Washington site. They have several trails listed for the DC area.
