Foo - [Geek] Microsoft Security Essentials is out

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It is basic antivirus protection available for download if anyone wants to try it out. Just got released recently (think in the past 24-48 hours.)

MSE is mechBgon-approved :thumb: That's what I use.
If you're interested in securing Windows, my Windows security guide (http://www.mechbgon.com/security) is worth a look too. Antivirus software doesn't have to be your front-line defense, nor should it have to play that role.
I just ran a test on MSE with the usual EICAR test file. It managed to grab it while the file was in Firefox's cache before it was even saved to the final location.
So, that gives me some positive assurance.
I know that MS Forefront's client security, although not advertised much, has been solid in the field, and from what I know, MSE is an offshot of this code base.
