It doesn't get much better than Alison Krauss.

I can't view (and therefore link) Youtube vids from work, but look up her version of "I'll Fly Away" from the "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack.

It's pretty amazing!

My bosses saw her live with Robert Plant at the Austin City Limits festival last year. They said it was the single greatest live performance they've been to, and they go to a lot of shows.

I've tried to find something by AK that was shown on CMT a year or two ago. I don't recall the title but it was an hour long show with some duets and some solos with other elite musicians in studio. The only other artist I can remember from this show was the classic bass guitartist Abraham Laboriel. The whole show was awesome...if I could only find it online :crash: :bang:

Claude Williams, the spry 80-year-old Oklahoma-born fiddler, who once performed with Nat (King) Cole and Count Basie, was joined by 16-year-old Alison Krauss for a rendition of ''Things Ain't What They Used to Be,'' in which his rough-hewn and her genteel folk sensibilities blended harmoniously. A prodigious technician in the Western long bow folk style popularized by the late Benny Thomas, Miss Krauss, in her signature mode, plays with a fluent, rhythmically understated sweetness. But teamed with Mr. Williams, whose fiddling skitters, scrapes, scats and caterwauls with a gleeful audacity, she adjusted her style into a folk-blues mode to complement him with sliding two-part harmonies of easy, swinging flexibility. The duet was only one of many crowd-pleasing moments in a concert whose six soloists each represented a different folk style.

Many years ago I bought AK's "Now That I've Found You: A Collection" after hearing When You Say Nothing At All. To my delight, the whole CD is amazing.
Although I am not religious, In the Palm of Your Hand always makes me stop what I'm doing so as to give all attention to her and soak it in....fantastic Fall colors in that vid :)

Ahhhh, someone posted the Lucky One... one of my favorites.
I found AK because I'll buy just about anything with JD on it.
AK + Union Station and JD is about as good as it gets
