Northeast - LBS Recommendation needed

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Could somebody please recommend a good LBS for me? My zipcode is 08820 (or Edison, NJ) area.
Many thanks!

Here is a Google Search for bicycle options for your area. I don't have any personal dealings with any of the New Jersey LBS.

DIAMOND CYCLE Montclair NJ.. he has a site .. type in as is or www.diamondcycle.com (http://www.diamondcycle.com)
you'll not find a better store anywhere. TONS o' places near Esison, I'm from up that way. DAIMOND has many brands, major bike store, one ofg the very best anywhere.

A guy I work with always recommends High Gear Cyclery. I've never been so I can't speak from experience, but he likes them.

Never been to that one.
Seems like another good sound choice. They've different brands than the I listed which widens the OP's selection. NJ has many spots. In my experience many have good repair facilities.

What are you looking for?
If it's mountain bike related, I'd suggest Bike 'n Gear at the corner of Amwell Rd. and Demott Lane in Somerset. Probably one of the closest to Edison, too. It's small, but don't be fooled by the shop size. They primarily carry Specialized & Cannondale as far as the big brands go. If you want 'boutique' (Turner, Ventana, Ellsworth, etc.), they can do that as well.
High Gear is a good choice, too. Much larger shop. Bigger selection of both road & mountain bikes. Loads of accessories (they're probably having a sale on end-of-season stuff). Further drive for you, though.
I've worn credit cards out at both places. :thumb:

Thanks. I just got a road bike and needed a good LBS for tune-up and accessories. I will check out the High Gear in MIllburn. I have been to eFingersports in Bound Brook. The bike dept. is not bad at all.
Thanks for all the advice. You guys make me feel welcome.

I just bought a Caad9 4 @ High Gear Cyclery in Millburn. Very pleasant experience, they set me up great and were very knowledgeable.
