I'm running a 36t (sometimes a 38t) front and 13-27t rear. I spend most of my time in the larger half (19-27t) of the cassette. Would it be better to mount the chainring on the outside or inside of the spider? I also run dual chainguide rings.
Thanks...

I run a 36 t with 11-34 cassette, set it up so my chain ring and middle sprocket were neutral.
Had to try both to get it ok, depends upon your bottom bracket, crank and frame geometry.
Have a third eye chain watcher and salsa ring dinger.
