hello all-
i am a relative newbie to mtb and i have what may be a silly question. i have a trek bruiser 1 which i use as transportation in nyc and some hard pack trails on long island and i was looking to update the rigid forks. i found one used front shock that looks pretty good, but i've looked up the specs on my bike and it says that the bike steerer's length is 183 mm (7.32 inches). the used front shock i am looking to buy says that the steerer is 7.25 inches (181.25 mm) long. Is this going to be a problem?
should i find a fork with a longer steerer and have it cut down to that exact size?
sry for all the stupid questions, i am a newbie and still learning.
bye and thanks-
