My wife purchased a universal FM transmitter off Ebay for both of these items which doesn't work and the seller refused to return her $$$. I guess the real question is now I have been givin the task of getting something to work or I am going to end up replacing the deck in my 07 Sante Fe. Any one have one of these transmitters that actually works that is under $50??
The reason I do not want to replace the deck is I am saving for important stuff!!!(BIKE PARTS)
Thanks in advance!

Its an 07 and its out of warranty? Really? 2-3 years is all they give on bumper to bumper?
Sorry, not much help on the FM thing.... My friend uses a Belkin, but I have no idea what the model number is.
I think the deck works fine but does not have an input for MP3 player.
OP, have you gone to an audio store and asked about have an accessory input added to your exisiting deck? Might be cheaper than replacing deck and/or a few $50 transmitters that do not work.
EDIT: Did a bit of googling. Does your Santa Fe have an XM button. If so, for $100 this might fix you up.

the deck is fine the warrenty is 100,000 miles. It is the wife that is crazy!!!
So have you looked into adding an aux input? That one that goes inline on the antenna input looks promising. I would stop by a car audio store and ask about one if I were in your shoes.

Any of the FM transmitters are going to have drawbacks depending on the car you are in and where you are driving. They can get interference from other radio waves. What might work in one part of your city might not work in another part. Just like listening to regular radio.
I would put the transmitter you bought back up on eBay. You'll have to eat the difference between your cost and what you sell if for but it will be better than losing the whole $50. Then look into a hard-wired solution like mentioned above. I've found cheap and easy ways to wire an aux input for both my Miata and a Subaru with stock factory radios (of course I've been too lazy to do anything about it).

i've never had a problem with an am/fm transmitter and holder i bought from meritline for 5 dollars shipped for my iphone. figured if it didn't work it would at least hold my phone and charge it.

it holds the Ipod touch but it doesn't even charge the thing!

Personally, I like the Alpine EX10 coupled with the hardwired antenna. I think I picked mine up for $75 off of Amazon total. Works absolutely perfectly in my porsche, charges my ipod, and I've yet to have the signal bleed over even in downtown San Diego. Unless you're an audiophile, it's damned near perfect quality sound. I just tuned it to 88.1, set my preset , power on the unit, and away I go. The thing I like most ? is the fact that I can listen to the Radio (yes, I 'm a Mikey show fan!) and if I get a phonecall, just switch the frequency and take the call through my stereo. It's really a great system, and it's a shame Alpine stopped making them.
There's the unit
And there's the antenna modulator.
