I'm going to be at the blue grass festival on Saturday, and was hoping to get a ride in on Sunday morning before leaving my friends place in Walnut Hill.

Something maybe 40 or so miles?

I'm looking for the NorCal version of the Glendora Mountain Road loop.

Thanks!

Without knowing what the Glendora Mountain Road is all about, I have a suggestion:

Walnut Creek to Berkeley Hills and back. I'm sure it's on Map-My-Ride somewhere. Basically, I ride clockwise out to Moraga, up through Canyon to Oakland Hills, over to Tilden, cross San Pablo, up to Pig Farm, back through Lafayette to WC.

The ride is about 50 miles with an elevation gain of about 2900'. Work it and you will leave feeling good.

I'm not overly familiar with the area but how about Walnut Creek to Morgan Territory to Camino and back? Works out to about what you're looking for:

1. Pig farm and da Bears.
2. Diablo from both sides.

Hello? Diablo Challenge? (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=587405)

Why not Mt. Diablo - Morgan Territory? It's probably very similar to doing Mt. Baldy via Glendora Ridge Road and Glendora Mtn Road.

When are you here?

In 3hrs that would be a pretty good pace!

I'd second BenRidin's post or DiabloScott's options. If you've not ridden Diablo, it's a must do.

Must be pretty popular with cyclists - some lunatic has a blog dedicated to riding it all the time:

Isn't Mt. D. shut down for the challenge on Sunday morning?
