Pretty new to cross and my current frame (an old Blue CX) didn't survived the first cross race I rode it in (got a huge crease in top tube).

Am looking around for a decent budget-ish replacement and my local shop offered me a pretty good discount on one of the Dolan Cross frames:

Just wondered if anyone has any feedback, seen anyone racing etc?

Not too sure what to make of the frame. It seems pretty light, Dolan have a good reputation on the track and its black which helps. However, its cable routing is like a road bike and it does have holes drilled from racks and fenders, which seems to indicate it may be too much of an all around machine.

Looks like it was designed for both. Doesn't mean it will make an awful cross bike though. The important thing is that the brake cable is routed over the top tube...

A buddy of mine bought one this winter and just raced this weekend for the first
time on his. He said he liked it. He was riding a Cross Check last
year and was quite happy with the reduction in weight.

I know a couple people with them and they seem like quite a good deal.

Build them up with rival and they can come in easily under 20lbs

If it is from the shop that I am thinking of...I would say definitely go for it

As I was short on options and time, I went ahead with a build based around the Dolan multi-cross frame and I have to say I'm really pleased with it.

Frame finish is nice (aside from the weird placement of the chainstay protectors which are on the side and not on the top of stays - weird). Fork is noticeably stiffer than my old frame but the ride quality was great. I really had no complaints in the first race I used it in; handled well, easy to carry over barriers, no noticeable flex around the BB etc.

So one race in, I really like this frame.

(Disclaimer: not using the stock seatpost which may make some difference, but am using clinchers).
