I have gone to the end of the beach front bike path in Torrance, just south of Riviera Village.
It looks like the only other way around the peninsula is on the road, which does seem to have a fair bike path on the side, all around to San Pedro, except for the slide area, which only seems to be bumpy.
However, today, at the public access spot at the Trump golf course, we could see a dirt path, and a paved path, apparently on the ocean side. Is there a path around? How long, what part is paved, etc.
Any links to further info?
Thanks

There's a small path, mostly walkers and runners use this path. It looks more like a sidewalk than anything, I wouldn't ride on it personally. It doesn't go on for very long. Just stick to PV Drive South all the way down to San Pedro.

Most of the dirt I think is hiker's only. But check out the above map.

Are the canyons and other trails legally accessible anymore? There are horse trails all over the place up there. Back in the day (we're talkin 1960's), we used to ride -- or push -- our Stingrays up John's Canyon from PV Drive North and over Crest Rd then drop down to the Portuguese Bend landslide area. We also rode the main trail that follows PV Drive North from the Dapplegray area to the beach. A few years ago, I was back visiting and remember riding my MTB over some of the same terrain. Don't know what it's like anymore or if those trails have been posted no bikes. Might be worth investigating.

Trail maps are at the top of the page above. The recent fire a few months ago is mentioned to.
