So, I've biked, made heatlhier food choices and gotten down to 202 lbs, (give or take), for the past two months. I'm having a heck of a time losing that final 5-10 lbs. to settle in comfortably under 200. For those of you clydesdale emeritus that have broken through the 200 lb. barrier, do you have any tips on how you did it?

From 368 to 248,218... been a many years since I went below 2. The final stretch is the hardest. you are no doubt bound to break it soon judging from the short time it took to lose all that you have (presumably). Eat almost nothing late except fruit. Try to eat within an hour of having excersized as the body utilizes foods "better" while your metabolism remains elevated.

The last few pounds is definitely the hardest. It gets to where you're treading a fine line between under nourishment and not losing weight. I find I can no longer rely solely on portion control, which is how I lost nearly all my weight. Now healthy choice come into play. Less fat, fewer desserts, more vegetables, maybe spread food out over snacks instead of meals, etc. Which is why I'm struggling. I started out around 230 and I'm 6'5". Now I'm around 185 and 12% body fat. For the life of me I can't get to single digit body fat though, too much sacrifice that I'm not ready to do yet.

Patience is the key. For me, losing weight is one goal, but overall health is the higher and more important goal.

You may want to look into calorie cycling. Its not something that I have ever done, but I've heard about it. Not sure where the best resources are for it, but google is a start, I suppose.

The reason you’re finding it hard to lose the last 5 is because you labeled it the last five.

Progress stops upon satisfaction… and it slows drastically near satisfaction. Remind yourself of what you felt when you were losing a lot of weight (disgust, worry, etc) and the weight will start to come off again.
