Interior of the GM exhibit building at the Century of Progress International Exposition. On-site assembly of Chevrolets in a gallery below ground level with balconies on both sides: Fisher Body line on the left; Chevrolet assembly line at right. The assembly line was powered by two huge Winton diesel engines designed by Charles F. Kettering.

(sweet home chicago is from Robert Johnson, king of the DELTA blues...)

Chicago blues is completely different. Probably why they lost the bid - playing Delta blues to personify Chicago. Silliness.

The last Olympics to turn a profit was the 1984 LA games.

You spend billions - generally, a *lot* of it taxpayer money - to host the Olympics. Yes, you get new sports facilities out of it, but are sports facilities *really* the best investment(s) to make in a large city when we are moving into a century where brains are a lot more important than whether a sprinter is male or female?

Great news for Rio. South America has never hosted an Olympics, and Brazil is a country on the rise, and will likely by the late 21st or early 22nd be a major world player.

First he gets pantsed by the North Koreans and the Iranians, then rejected by the Olympics, why don't they love him like we do?

He and his wife personally lobbied the IOC members and then Chicago has The Lowest Vote Total. How can they dis-respect our president like that? Doesn't the IOC know he's here to make nice?
