Curious if anyone has done both of these as to which is the preferable ride? I'd kind of like to support the smaller ride, but Eburg is looking cold and a bit pricey... How are the roads on the Kitsap ride?

The Manastash is a fundraiser for the non-profit sponsor. I suspect that's why the price is a little higher. I like the scenery with fall color changes starting and riding along the river. Never done the Kitsap so I can't compare it.

Great day for the Manastash. 40 degrees at the start but the hills get you warmed up pretty quickly. 5-10 mph wind and no rain. Great turnout - reportedly over 150 riders showed up. A month ago it was at 41 - so that's very encouraging.

I think they said 171 showed up, me being one of them.

Kitsap is OK if you like backroads with views of Puget Sound, Mt Baker, the Olympic Mt's., then winds into Poulsbo's waterfront park for the food stop. Very hilly, short steep climbs but some excellent little desents.

I ended up doing Kitsap, as it was closer, cheaper, and looked like it would be warmer. The weather was great, views were good, and the roads were mostly ok, but a number of sections were much higher traffic then I like to ride. I'll most likely give the Manastash ride a try next year for something different. The century route that was just posted looks like another good option for fall riding over there.

I also did the Kitsap ride over the weekend. It was my first Cascade Bicycle Club ride and honestly wasn't too impressed by it at all. A couple friends and I and another group before us crashed because of a blind "S" turn. There was loose gravel and leaves on the ground so no chance of stopping in time. After the incident, I heard they posted workers at the top warning people to slow down to avoid any more crashes.

My fifth Kitsap and this was the best as far as weather. Pretty scenery and views. I do it mostly because I live in Edmonds so it takes no great effort to get up and at it. The ferry ride is a nice bonus. No complaints.
