Alto Velo B ride leaves from Peets in Los Altos at 9:10. Tomorrow it goes up Kings, WOLH, and down Page Mill.

There's also the Low Key hill climb series, starting tomorrow.

How hard is that B ride? Like, what time do they put down going up OLH? I'll be looking for some shorter, more focused rides for the winter, but don't want to embarrass myself with my 24:00 times.

It's not that hard for a racer ride. You'll be in the middle of the group on climbs if you can do a 24 min OLH.

I usually opt for the PV ride since it starts/ends earlier and tends to be more civil. I wonder what the turnout/speed is like, this time of year.

So to get it clear in my head up Kings then down 84, up WOLH, to skyline then down page mill? How long do you think it is going to take, and how many miles is that?

Thank You.

I did the Alto Velo ride. I could actually keep up this time. :thumb: So the plan was to get plenty of rest on Friday, good amount of sleep, and show up early to meet people. Yeah.... There was a blood drive at work on Friday. Since I have never done that before I thought "eh why not?". Way over rated experience. I didn't even get that mushy feel good vibes for doing something positive. As for sleep, damn you internet! I didn't go to sleep until 1 am. So I draged myself out of bed around 7:40, procrastinated and showed up just as they were leaving. ha ha.
I wanted to see if I could keep up with fast folks on Kings, but umm nature had other plans at the bottom of the climb. As the result I just ended up chasing for most of the climb. ha ha. Descent down Page Mill was fun, except I completely forgot how to descent. Good thing my frame is like jack rabbit on steroids, it somewhat made up for my severe lack of skill. ha ha In the end it was a nice 65 mile ride. :D
