I just moved my office from home to an office environment. Prior to the move I could send/receive email just fine. After the move I can't send email. I can receive them but I cannot send them. I am now on a different ISP than I was before (DSL now, cable before). When I try to send email I get the following error msg:

An unknown error was returned from the SMTP server. Account: Rob P., Server: 'SMTP.Rob P.'s provider.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '571 imp09 smtp.Rob P.'s provider.net NzYuMTkzLjkxLjI1MA== You must connect from Provider IP space. E1110', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 571, Error Number: 0x800CCC61

I have checked the tools/accounts/properties/servers tab to be sure that I have the authentication/settings checked and that the authentication and password is correct. I checked the advanced tab to be sure that the SSL boxes are checked. This is where I think I have a problem. When I check the box for outgoing mail nothing changes and the port stays 25. When I check the box for incoming mail the port changes from 110 to 995. When I uncheck the box the port changes back to 110.

What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Error 571 means "Mail relay is not allowed"

Most ISP's only let you send through their server when you are inside their network. This prevents people from trying to use their servers for spam from outside.

You should try to send from your new ISP's mail server if they gave you an account, or try to send from another mail system (you can set the reply-to to have people's reply's go to your old account if you want)

The SMTP outgoing mail-server needs to be changed inside your email software. Go to the ISP's website and they'll most likely have instructions on how to configure your mail. Typically the mail-server is named something like SMTP.ISPNAME.COM. You need to change it to that in your email programme from your previous ISP.

Even though you still may still be using the exact same mail-account. That doesn't matter because that's your POP3 incoming email server (which stays the same). You just need to change the outgoing one to be your ISP's.

You might need to change the port too. 587 is called a mail submission port and is what a lot of ISPs use for clients these days instead of 25. Also, most ISPs use SSL based SMTP, and that port is 465. Perhaps changing your host and ports should fix this.
