If purchasing as a personal ride I would say it's in the ball park.............would'nt hurt to try and work him over a little though.

That doesn't seem like an awful deal, but it doesn't seem like a must buy either. I am NOT an expert on Trek, but 275 seems highish for a bike with those parts on it...probably not something I'd do.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. I don't mind paying for a quality older ride, but $275 seems pretty high.

Looks like a 412, poor pictures, so I am not sure. If it is a 412, then a really nice one would bring about $200. $275 is out of line, except in places like San Fran, Portland, and other super hot markets.

presuming that it's worth more than the average '80s bike base on being a particularly old Trek .. I would think the seller would list the model, know the right year etc. If you were to find out such things and narrow it down further, the highish price might be better justified.
Looks like earlier than later in the '80s. Also knowing just part group it had would make the price seem a little high not way too high. Details help adjust the degree to which it's overpriced. It would mostly interest someone particularly interested in Treks. $200's reasonable

Can't tell what crankset it is, looks like it might be a nice frame built up with spare, haphazard and rather cheap parts. In this case its overpriced because you're really just buying a nice frame. Then again, that frame in great condition might sell on ebay for $200 alone. And it really is worth that, in my view, considering that bikes are not made like that any more unless youre willing to pay 1500+ for frame and fork.

If you're looking for a complete bike, this may not be for you. $200 is great for the frame. $275 is too much for a nice frame built into a janky bike. I say go look at it.
