Commuting - Recommend me a bike please?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I currently drive a road bike single speed conversion. It's fun, but the 11 miles each way is a bit tough. I want something more comfy and more upright. I also don't want to go the route of the comfort bikes because i think they're hideous. I had my eyes set on the Trek Belleville

Are there anything out there that is similar?

I really like that Belleville! Seems like it would be the perfect city bike.
For a 22mi round trip though, I'd want something that offered more in the way of performance and the ability to get down into a more aero position.
Any thoughts on a CX bike or a tourer??

look at www.jamisbikes.com (http://www.jamisbikes.com) they've just introduced the 2010's. click on the the "bikes" up top.... NOT the PDF 2010 part .
By viewing the 2009 spot, you'll be able to look at different catagories; not just the overly comfy types but FlatBars, Road Bikes in different materials. The site is easy and informative whether or not you choose Jamis or not. The company in well represented where you live. You ought to view Bianchi too, again, focus on the '09s as the site pertaining to 2010 is incomplete. NYC has those dealers also.
