It's about that time again. I'm looking at late October or early November. It's time for a pose ride! 50 - 60 ish miles. Put on your finest kit and take off on suburban tour 4 or 5 local cafés in the San Diego. Bring you cameras, polish up the bikes, and plan to spend a day of looking good on and (mostly) off the bike. Still working on a route, but be assured it will be interesting yet familiar and of a low level of difficulty, er, maybe. So who's up for it? I'll post details as they come. Anyone have a preference for a date?

No stopping at Starbucks. The stops last time were:
Peet's Coffee, Point Loma
Cafe Calabria, North Park
Pannikin, La Jolla

i roast my own coffee, so i get plenty of great coffee all day long. i have no problems with drinking subpar coffee, or i can throw down some monster/amp/redcaca if the coffee is really bad. i just want to fit in with the cool kids, or at least be seen riding with them

You'll be riding with me tomorow. It doesn't get better than that.

I would be interested. Preferably on Sunday and preferably in October. I voted for Solana Beach. Mark's ride last year was nice but too hard. I think we had about 5K of climbing over the 50 miles.
4-5 coffee stops? Listen son, coffee is not beer - you can't drink that much coffee in one day. ;) :D

i know i'll be with some of bikeforum's coolest kids, but the effect is lost when diluted with thousands of people. cya in the am!

On Saturday on the Grizzly Century (the best, by the way, especially the great views and good descending -Chris) I saw a guy wearing a Poser, Charlatain jersey and I thought of you guys. Is that some Itialian club or something? I think it was wool, classic, pretty cool looking.

I,m sure I was one of the biggest posers there!

So how was it Larry? Bit nippy on the descents?

Not at all! Absolutely perfect weather. 52 degrees at 7:00 at Bass Lake, hottest part of the day might have been 75. It's on the "Scenic Byway" -road to nowhere, so there were virtually no cars, just a few off road type motorcycles. Views of Mammoth mtn. Mammoth Pool, The Minarets, Redinger Valley. Then Grizzly road -1 lane 15mi climb, then 20+mi descent down Besore rd. --Fun!

On the way back home Fri. nite, bout' 8:00, I was Driving Ron's 09 Subaru Outback and we hit 2 cows That were standing right in our lane as I rounded a curve. One on each corner of the front end. Pretty much totaling it.

Probably both. Not really his fault though; Starbuck's knows which buttons to push for some people.

i'm no fan of starbucks, but i do think that they have (very) slightly raised the standard for coffee quality in our country.

i looked everywhere, and i can't find my usps socks. do cal socks count as posing? i suck :(

You could always borrow Frank's La Grange socks. Nothing says poser like La Grange:)

Unfortunately, The Sensei (Master Poser) will not be able to participate in this ride. I'll hopefully be able to join you all next time.

Peace and Dry Roads.. :)

Too late for entries ? Sounds like a good time, so if you'll have me, I'm in. I don't have any pro-kit, but I do have a jersey that will help you practice your Deutsch while you're behind me! I don't know if that's cool enough or not.
