I started the following thread to inquire what RD to get for my commuter bike:

The bike has no FD with a 44t ring. The cassette is 11-32. I bought a Shimano 105 5600 SS replacing the Tourney that came with the bike. I wanted that particular RD because from what I read it would have the shortest cage length. Though the spec says the largest sprocket should be 27t, and though others said I might get by with 30t, I have no problem with 32t, and room is still left over. The hanger is longer which is why there's enough clearance with the larger sprocket.
