I want to upgrade my hybrid's wheelset. Can I use my 9 speed road bike's wheels?

yes, you'll be fine. 8/9/10 is all the same spacing

An 8 speed cassette will fit on a 9/10 speed hub because the hub is the same size while only the cog spacing is diffrent... make sure the hub fits your rear dropouts as you may have a 135mm dropout on your hybrid (and need an mtb hub) whereas a road hub is 130 mm.

Thanks 65er. I think my hybrid does have 135mm spacing. What is the easiest way to measure it?

A ruler from the inside of one dropout to the other.

With a ruler... you want the inside measure between the dropouts.

The replies you have received assume that you have Shimano or Shimano compatible gears. If you happen to have Campagnolo then you cannot use 9 or 10 speed wheels.
