Track Cycling: Velodrome Racing and Training Area - vintage tt to pursuit conversion

ok so here's the deal: I recently purchased a 1984 shogun kaze funny bike for almost nothing ($150 including kashimax saddle, nitto njs stem, araya aero tubular 24" front wheel, etc) all in all it was a great deal. anyway, I'm considering paying someone to braze some track ends on as a replacement for the old horizontal dropouts. I know this type of bike is no longer uci legal, but is it legal for usa cycling and smaller types of events? Hopefully somebody out there has an answer. this bike would make a really fun pursuit bike as it still in very good shape. otherwise i will just keep it as a conversion, make some spoke cards, get a top tube pad, and use it to impress the local hipsters.

For USA events bikes must have the same size front and rear wheel. No more 700 rear and 650 fronts or any other combination.

uci requires equal size wheels front and rear as well.

yes i know uci requires both wheels to be the same, but how about at the local track, for non uci stuff, and just for non racing track time?

dang! literally all track events in USA?? that sucks. oh by the way its not a hipster bike it is a classic time trial bike. it has no heavy boutique parts on it whatsoever. maybe if I had some riser bars on it and some deep v's...

Local events will be subject to the local track director. That's pretty much based on if it's a safe, functional bike. But, I would assume that any times you get won't be "official" even for local records.

what size? pics? make it a tt bike, local club events should allow you to run it

Any events sanctioned by Cycling USA, or any of their subsidiaries, will be following UCI rules. Even the Cat 5 ones.
