"Police need your help tracking down a man who assaults people - while on his bike.

He's been assaulting men and women in Southwest Edmonton since July. The attacks are random, and range from verbal insults and swerving around the victim to grabbing, kicking, and punching.

Police are looking for a Caucasian man, 20-40 years old who is about 5'10", and of average build. He has shoulder length brown hair and usually rides a red mountain bike.

Nine complaints are being investigated. EPS think there are other people who have been assaulted by the man on a bike, but possibly feel the incidents are too minor to report.

If you have had a run in with the Bike Assaulter, or have information as to his whereabouts... you're asked to contact EPS (Edmonton Police Service)."

On the TV version there was no mention of kicking or punching.
I wonder what else there might be behind this story?

I'm not sure that a nut on a bike is rare or worthy of mention.

If I lived in the area, I would want to know if cops were hunting for a guy on a bike. Good heads up for cyclist that might get pulled over for seemingly no reason.

Oh great ... in my newly adopted home town.

To be honest, this is the first I've heard of him; no bicycle crackdown in effect.

Nothing a walking stick in the spokes won't fix.

Could be worse, he could be driving a car.
