I've just got myself some Look pedals, shoes, and some red cleats. I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice on setting them up as there seems to be quite a lot of movement in the cleat positioning. Thanks.

What model Look pedals did you get? You also have the float cleat(red) I have the 396 with adjustable float and love-m. Are you coming off a non float cleat? If so the floaters will seem wiggly. Let us know whatcha got>><<.

experiment. But I found having them right under the ball of my foot works best for me. Too far in either direction and I cramp up.

I'm not actually sure what the pedals themselves are as they are used (they are Look); the body is all alloy with a black plastic clip at the rear. I was actually using toe clips before!

I second this. Get them close to the point where the axle of the pedal is under the ball of your foot then go ride. Climb a few hills and you'll quickly figure out if the cleat is too far forward or back. Foot cramps set in quickly and painfully (at least for me). Once you figure out the right position, tighten those screws as tight as they'll take it (without stripping them of course). I found the perfect spot only to have to find it again b/c my left cleat shifted (and the foot cramps returned).

I'll give that a try, thanks.
