Judging from its weight, design and gearing, I'm guessing this is low end bike boom...can someone give me more info? It has a busted rear d. and most of the components are huron. From rim is an araya...clearly not original...while the front is a rigida that says chromix or some such thing. The person wants $50, and I was wondering if it's worth fixing up and flipping...or if it has anything anyone on here is interested in as a fascilitator.

Poor choice for flip material, as it requires a fair amount of work and some parts, is priced too high, and has very little upside. There just is not any margin to cover your time and parts on this bike. Its a bottom end Peugeot: turkey levers, stem shifters, steel rims, and high ten steel frame (Carbolite 103). I would not pay $50 for it.

I avoid any steel rim bikes for flips, there just isn't enough upside even if I get the bike for free (OK for free, I would probably take one as a donor). The only exception are the old EF Schwinns (Varsities, Suburban, etc). Hipster buyers pay a premium for EF Schwinns. Even then, I would not pay $50 for a EF Schwinn project bike. Except for the EF Schwinns, I only work on bikes with cromoly frames and alloy rims. They have enough upside potential to reward you for your efforts.

Around here for that Peugeot, in ready to ride condition and super clean, you are talking $120 max. By the time you buy it, put some parts onto it, and put some time into it, it is a break even deal at best. I don't see $100 of margin here.

I use the Miamijim rule: there needs to be at least $100 upside after parts on a flip bike. This $100 covers your time and effort, along with any surprises.

It appears to be the base model P6, circa 1984. Can't tell if the RD is really broken or not.

It's broken...it's bent and twisted beyond belief. The front hub also definitely needs work. Thanks for the insight wrk!

Seems OK, I believe that it would appeal to some. It IS a Peugot and a good color decent shape, it's appealing to many. It's not up-there as HI model , still though the tube-set ain't bad, not a miserable heavyweight. KonAaron, you've seen what these newbies present, you've got to know that you could do OK . And fixing it could be done easily; hours involve, a few pieces. Regular ten dollar used derailers would work.
Any SunTour or Shim. short range. Med. at best, don't think so though. I never expect to make much selling. It's more a matter of realizing an end product. A French type, you know the type, sre more than I can handle. This one's from the '80s

I gotta say I'm seeing it wrk's way...even at 10 dollars on the RD, I have 30 into tires...10-15 into tape...10 into pads...even if everything else goes perfectly, I'm looking at 50 for the bike and 50 in parts. I don't think I could get over 150 for it...so I'm probably passing. I don't know what these parts are worth and thought maybe someone on here would be interested in some of them.
