Is there anyway to straighten the the braking surface on a carbon fiber wheelset? The wheels are the specialized tri spokes, which have a metal braking surface. When i run my finger along the surface i can feel that the surface is not completely flat all around but its not that bad either. suggestions?

yes but how?
Are they a spoked wheel? If they are you need a truing stand and a spoke wrench.
Tri spokes are 100% carbon molded pieces. No truing possible.
All carbon wheels have a less-than-perfect braking surface. You have to live with it I'm afraid. Molding will never come to the perfection of a machined brake surface.

no they are carbon tri-spoked rims with metal braking surface, and im just concerned with smoothing out the braking surface.
Oops, I guess I was thinking of the wrong wheels. In any case those are not truable either.

well...damn

I suspect that the only way to "smooth out" the brake surface would be to have a machine shop mill it down much like auto brake disks are turned to flatten them.
If it's still acceptable, I'd leave it alone.
Highly not recommended. the aluminum surface could be very thin and the machining could grind it down to paper thin or dangerously close to it.
I would agree with supcom, "If it's still acceptable, I'd leave it alone."
If unacceptable, sell them.
