I don't know that I am posting this in the correct message board, but I have somewhat narrowed down my bike search to three candidates. I ride weekends, sprints, paved trails and 10 mile commutes. My only requirements is that the bike be disc brake equipped or disc brake capable with the best other components for the money.
Salsa La Cruz: http://www.salsacycles.com/laCruz08.html $1200.00 - $1800.00
I might change the wheels and would plan to upgrade to ultegras front and rear.
Motobecane Fantom Cross Team Ti: $1799.00 http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/...cross_ti_x.htm
Allot of bang for the buck, but I would need new wheels and the disc brakes if that is the direction i want to go. $$$$ The one issue is that I have not been able to find a front 130 mm hub for a road based wheel-set. ????
Kona Honk Inc: http://www.konaworld.com/bike.cfm?content=honkyinc $1400.00 - $1800.00
This is a cool bike, but I have not been able to find any info about this specific model.
