Northern California - I knew I was pathetic, but.....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I didn't know how much until not one, but two unicyclists passed me in today's Mt. Diablo Challenge.
Oh well, it was good to see Beaker, PowPow, BenRiding and Brentley at the top.

Nah - that's a load of bull. Good to see we cross posted again (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=591239).

no :), but what was interesting was that it looked like they were struggling up the 10% section of the road. It would have been interesting seeing how they handled the wall (~15%)

Probably the same way I always do - on foot.
In years past, I was not only passed by the unicyclists, but also by the dad on his mountian bike dragging his 7 year old kind on a trial-a-bike. What made it even more embarassing was that I knew the dad . . . :(

First single-speed/fixed (not sure) rider came in about 55 minutes... looked like your average hipster on a Surly flat bar - maybe Karate Monkey or something. I think he was the first one who was smiling when he went by me at the bottom of the wall. I really admire anti-posers.

I've not done it recently, but in years past the Diablo Challenge did not go up the wall. The course goes up the left side - still steep, but not nearly as step as the right side.

Yes, they go up the left side so that finished riders coming down from the Upper Parking Lot don't have to cross lanes with riders going up.
It's a different profile, but only a LITTLE bit easier.
there were two guys on unis?
