I just bought some old drilled shimano 600 brake levers for my bianchi and would like to get hoods for them. I cannot find the hoods on ebay for a reasonable price, but have found Dia Compe hoods on amazon that look like they would work- Any advice?

This is probably not what you are looking for but I will throw it out there anyway. I had a set of older Shimano 600 levers with no hoods and I also had a new set of Nashbar aero levers (http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product_10053_10052_174768_-1_201521_10000_201527). The Nashbar levers came with an extra set of hoods that happen fit on my 600 levers perfectly. So for $14 you could get hoods and a bonus set of aero levers.

The only caveat is that since they are aero hoods they lack a hole for the cable, this was easy to fix with a hollow punch (http://www.princessauto.com/tools/hand-tools/punch-chisels/2920169-12-pc-hollow-punch-set). Once punched and installed the hoods looked like they were made for the levers.

I have some 600 levers that came on a bike with an Arabesque group, and a set of Dia Compe hoods fits those levers just fine (with a little slicing underneath). Not sure about the drilled 600 levers in particular though. The DC hoods are cheap enough to give them a shot.

I've got some Dia-Compe hoods on my drilled 600 Arabesque levers and they work just fine. Some trimming would make them an even better fit, but I haven't even seen the need to do that yet.

Anybody know if those Nashbars will fit on this Shimano 600 aero lever?

It doesn't look like they would be an exact fit, they may show a bit of the lever bracket; I bet they would work fine though. Here is a few pics of them on Shimano 600 non-aero levers.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I got the hoods in the mail today and I do not have a single complaint. They fit like a glove, I am just going to have to cut a little on the underside of the hood so the the pivoting motion of the lever works to its fullest potential.

Cane Creek hoods also work well on the non-aero 600 levers. Like mentioned in the previous post, you do need to trim the underside of the hood just a little to give the levers more room to move.

I didn't see if you meant for aero or non-aero, but these Cane Creeks don't fit well on my 600 6207 levers. The barrel of the hoods are too big around. I had to add some foam rubber to pad correctly. And, they are a tad too short. I thought that I read that Cane Creek and Dia Compe are the same thing. I bought these hoods for Suntour Superbe levers and they didn't fit those either in the same way. I would think if you found some Superbe hoods, they might fit the 600's as well.
