Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - A really poor choice in programming

I thought the WB was foolish when they sold off Buffy to Fox. Then they had FireFly, also a Joss whedon project. They let it run 12 episodes before canceling it. My Bride got me the box set for my birthday (I had seen about half of them) It truly is one of the best Sci-Fi shows I have seen in years. Very character driven, but with action. A mix of wild west and space I have not seen. The variety of characters and their interaction and conflict just draw you in. I was a fan of Next Generation, but this is better(My opinion :) ) Fox has jumped in and bought the rights to FireFly and is making a movie out of a series (No one ever did that before !!) Hopefully they will bring it back to TV, as I would really like a series I couldn't wait to see each week.

Dude, I'm so tore up over Angel ending that I just have no clue what to do with my Wednesday nights! It was da show for me, and I'm going to miss it. Seriously. They had David Boreanaz here in Chicago to promote the last show, and Boreanaz was a class act- was happy with how the show ended and looking forward to moving on. And I loved the ending too- no Hollywood, everyone feels good kind of thing... I screamed when the screen went black. I think my friends and I talked about it for weeks!

Seriously, Sci-fi kind of stuff is great. When done right, it's a great genre, and soooooo much better than those crazy reality television shows out there (I don't watch any of them either).

Dang, I miss the days of watching those old Twilight Zone episodes.... :(

The boxed set is well worth your dough. I think that Rob Serling was one of the best writers of the century, and I am NOT joking. And this is coming from a total lit snob. :)

FireFly was an awsome series, stinks it got cancelled. but i'm not suprised, promtion of the series was so poor i never even heard of it till it was on DVD. i was browsing thru netflix one day and happened on it. and i really can't think of a television series i liked better. i highly recommend it even to folks who arent sci-fi fans. the show had humor, some great action and really interesting characters. there wasn't a bad episode in the series.

firefly was alright imo. i like this season of enterprise better... but i haven't seen anything past the episode where the captain goes on the suicide mission and enterprise gets blown up.

also, whatever happened to dark angel? and tidus for that matter. also that show... the one with the two cops and tiffany amber theason... all these shows were worth wathcing and now they're gone. why?

i also think they should bring back that batman cartoon that was on from 1992-95 and make it even more grown up with full hour long episodes.. that cartoon was sweet.
