I learned to ride a wheel the summer between third and foruth grade (1973). I once rode 22 miles before falling. I belonged to the Pontiac Unicyclists but now I'm old and envious!

Very cool. Can you tell me about the gear you use? Did I see two different size tires there? What size? Are you running a regular 26" mountain bike front wheel on a mountain bike fork or is it special made for uni? Do you use suspension or is it all rigid?

Do you use suspension or is it all rigid? My Main MUni (Mountain uni) is made by Kris Holm, and it's a 24" rim, and 24x3 intense DH tire. Also a magura hydraulic brake, thomson seat post, carbon fiber seat base and lift handle. Speedplay drillium pedals, KH/Isis splined hub and "Moment" splined 150mm cranks.

Much of these things are upgrades plus I run a 65mm wide Surly Large Marge rim. Here's a link to the base model-they're currently out of stock. http://www.unicycle.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=1271

Thanks. Actually, I didn't make it. My Dad made it more than 50 years ago. As noted, it has always been rusty and twisted like that. Trailworthy? I doubt it, but it will be fun to get back to riding it around town again.

Very cool! I've always wondered how many hours a week you ride?I try to ride every day, but last Saturday I did a 20 mile ride at backbone trail and it really kicked my butt for a couple days so i needed recovery time. On average, about 2 hours per day during the week, and maybe 4-6 hours for each weekend day.
