Bicycle Mechanics - DA10 Cranks don't spin freely on a new bike build

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I was just building up a new bike and putting on new Dura-Ace 10 components and I get a weird problem with the cranks/bb. The cranks don't spin freely. When I try to spin the cranks, they go around about 1 revolution before stopping. This is my first time installing the new DA bottom bracket and cranks. Not sure why I am getting this. Any ideas?
That's what they do. Campy spins like it's anti-gravity, DA just kinda does what you saw it do.
Come on! Can we please not turn this into a Campy vs. Shimano debate? I'm seriously trying to get some help on this! FYI, I have had Dura-Ace 8 and then 9. And they spin fine. Granted the bottom brackets wore out faster than expected, but new out of the box, no probs with spinning the cranks.
HELP! Anyone have any ideas or familiarity to the DA 10 cranks/bb? Do I have something tightened down too tight or something?!
No I'm serious! This is not a campy debate, that is really how DA10 is! I ride DA, it works fine, it's just how the bb is.
It will spin fine once you have it all built up. It is just tight like that, just how DA10 is, not hatin' on you :)
Double check to make sure the BB is the right size... if you squeeze a 73 into a 68 it will go in but will make the spindle feel very tight.

Road bikes only have 68 mm shells, unless they are italian and then they are threaded the other direction, they are a slightly different diameter and they are 70 mm wide.

Wow I can't believe I actually posted that... long day at work I guess. :o
That is just how DA10 is. There is nothing wrong with it.
So the fact that the cranks pretty much don't spin freely on a new build, that's how DA10 bb/cranks are? Hmmm, weird. I swear, I try spinning the cranks and it goes around about 1 revolution before it stops. Checked the bb shell size and threading (english 68mm) and installed everything exactly right, I think.
Does it start spinning a little more freely after a few hundred miles?
