I was wondering if anyone had a link to picture of the gold bike Lance rode in the end of the tour. I don't know if I am just dumb or what, but I can't find it in a google search or anywhere on this site.

It sounds really cool, so I would like to see it if anyone here has it. Thanks!!

Is that the Livestrong logo on the top tube? Man, that bike is sweet! You know that will be a special edition for the '05 line of treks.

They mentioned his new bike & helmet on yesterdays Lance Chronicles...

Looks like he asked Xzibit to "Pimp my Ride" and had it sent to West Coast Customs.

For 10k that seatpost should tighten itself!

Looks too much like he is sponsored by a malt liquor.

Are there any performance benefits for spending thousands more than the stock bike without the gold spokes and the Livestrong decal? I highly doubt any changes would be worth that much more... This would be one of those wall-hanging display bikes.

That bike is too ugly to be seen riding in public.

They need lessons from Gibo or Cipo on how to make special one day bikes.

You know, it's badged like a LeMond!

I know Trek uses the same pattern for their bikes but with the yellow bands around the decals it looks more like a LeMond than a Trek.

i would think that part of the proceeds for that bike, if sold for 2k5, will goto the lance armstrong foundation...'specially with that "livestrong". I thought it was a nice touch in stage 20 :)

Him adjusting the seatpost was probably nothing more than a PR stunt so his bike can get more TV time. ;)

I was out of town during the final 2 stages, does anyone have pics of the "Livestrong" bike? The one with yellow spokes?

Actually, I think the LeMonds are badged like the old Treks. I think the panels are meant to be a throwback to the older Trek decal scheme.

Sharp thinking. Are you in the marketing field? I even suggest there was a double, or even triple(and I'm not talking about his crank set.) to get more tv coverage.

It's either a Madone SSL or a Madone SL 5.9. These are new Madone models that will probably make it into next year's lineup. Since it says OCLV 110 on the seat-tube, then it's most likely a Madone SL 5.9. The Madone SSL uses OCLV 55.

why did they rid it of the fin? doesn't the fin prevent the wind from interacting with the wheel ?

If it's got the LIVESTRONG logo on it, I assume some of the profits will go to the LAF. Or at least I hope they would. :)

I'm pretty sure the Special edition Yellow Madone's from last year that sold for $6k had a lot of the profit go to charity... i'm sure this is the same deal

save weight maybe?
Or perhaps the marketing people felt it was unecessary since the benefit was zero but having it there increased the mould costs enough to kill it off for eternity.

I think it was $7,000 but you also got a limited edition numbered poster and a commemorative (5 win) jersey.

It looks like he's wearing 3 LiveStrong bands. Are they that bag? I got a child size one, and it looks nothing what he's wearing. His is like 3 x bigger.

How long until it's auctioned and the proceeds go to LAF?

Geez....the bike Lance won #6 on....start your bids.

Isn't gold a soft metal? If so, do you not have to worry about nicks and scratches on your golden componentry? Are there any performance benefits or are they just for eye-candy?

...What use would that be? Attract more buyers by showing that something's wrong with a TREK? That's like Ritchey using Haselbacher's crash to promote their stems and bars

But aren't the yellow bands suppose to reflect the Livestrong bands that so many of us are wearing. That was my impression when I seen it. Great incorporation of a design element.
