Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Campy Crankset

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Could anyone tell what group this belongs to and roughly how much it's worth ?
The yellowing looks like oil that had spilled on it, not rust.

Campagnolo Triomphe crankset. FD is also Triomphe. Pedals are aftermarket.
I'll let someone else give you a valuation.

I would disagree slightly on the price of the crank. The crank/chainrings have a 116BCD, which is weird and proprietary. Because of that I've seen some people pay upwards of $50 for NOS Triomphe rings. On the other hand, if you don't already have a Triomphe/Victory crank, the 116BCD rings are useless and should be avoided. If it's any use to you, a couple years back I saw a NOS Triomphe crank/rings at a LBS for $85

NOS NOS
NOS (New Old Stock) does make a difference but......we're looking at what appears to be well used cranks.
+1 Needs quite a bit of cleanup to maximize selling price. Pedals have little value, probably not worth ebay. Better to save them as rebuild stock, or sell a pile of misc parts on Craigs List or this forum.

Agreed. I guess the base of what I was trying to get at is, to the right person they may be worth a little more than $20. Finding that right person may be a chore though.

I agree 100%. There are so many parts out there that condition becomes very important.
As an example, if I were to sell 2 Shimano 600 Ultegra tri-color rear derailleurs on Ebay, one in near NOS condition and the second with alot of miles and chrome speckling, I'd be lucky to get $10 for the well used piece while the near NOS derailleur may go as high as $40 or $50.

Another good example is my CAAD9 R1000 frame. Bought it off Craigslist for $70 because it had a quarter size dent in the top tube! Minty otherwise. Without that dent it would go for much much more.
/end thread derailment :innocent:

A $3.00 can of brake clean found at a parts store will do that crank justice.
You obviously have the ability to take photos. & apparently are familiar with e-bay.
I've never seen a Triomphe crank go cheap on e-bay. Those carnks are scarce there.
You may want to list other items on e-bay while you've the crank up. buyers are inclined to buy additional items from sellers, being able to combine shipping. Hell, I've bought cookware off o' sellers along with bike items. Get it ?
As for extracting a long dollar from felllow members ? Maybe ....if you *****-it-out or swap.

Some fellow was selling them BIN on eBay a while ago - for $75, NOS.
I waited around until I snatched a lightly-used one for $26.88.

fyi I do not see it mentioned anywhere. that 'spilled oil' is actually acumulated chain lube from years of neglect.
