I'm riding in my first century this weekend. The Tour de Livingston. Got any pointers? Luckly I'm going with some friends who are alot more seasoned then me. But I do worry about holding them up. 50 miles has been my longest ride. Any suggestions would be great and any info on the ride itself would be nice too.

i live pretty much everywhere that ride takes place. use puncture-resistant tires & bring lots of tubes.

Hey, thanks for the heads-up on this event. I'm looking at actually being in Howell MI this weekend and I might have nothing else to do on Saturday. That would be amazingly convenient if I end-up being able to do this ride. I'm not quite ready for the century, but I might give that metric a go... haven't done that distance in a couple of years now. Thanks for the post!

Your welcome RoRo. I don't know much about the ride. I'm going with some friends and they have been on this ride before and say it is well organized. You can visit it at tourdelivingston.org
PS: Is it snowing up there yet?

Oh well, it sounds like I will NOT be able to make it down in time for the ride on Saturday. Have fun everyone.

Snow... :twitchy: as ridiculous as it sounds, I actually heard the forcast is for a chance of snow on Sunday. :notamused: Further, I could have SWORN I saw a flake come down in my front yard today.

I'll certainly be glad to be down south this weekend... in Howell, MI.

It's Sunday morning and I don't feel that bad. A little sore around the seat area. But my legs feel prety good. Had a great time on the ride. The event was well planned and put together. I'll be going again next year.
