Road Cycling - Do any pros refuse to ride certain bikes?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Imagine this: you've been riding for US Postal for a few years, and you've
spent countless hours working with TREK, and they provide a bike that
you feel is the best bike you've ever ridden, so you ride it for a couple of seasons....you LOVE IT.

Then US Postal change bikes, and you're like, "oh my god, this bike is crap -- i can't ride it".

Surely this has happened. Surely you would say, "just paint my old TREK in your colors"

????

(i'm still going for the dumbest thread ever)

I don't know if it's the riders (probably sometimes) or the teams, but re-labeling a bike is semi-common. Even this year Liberty's TT bikes were left over ONCE Giant bikes, Lance in 99 was riding a Lightspeed TT bike. There are lots of examples where pro riders are riding equipment that isn't "sponsored" and is either unlabled or re-labled.
