I have a set of 7-sp only, 1989 Chorus, I think, and a set that has the little lever on the side. I also have 2 blue inserts and 1 yellow insert.

What I don't have, is a set of instructions on how to mount them. I've mounted them two different ways so far, and can't get an index "click." They just swivel.

The Chorus has a matching RD/FD/Regina America freewheel, and I'd like to mount them right, as a 7-speed.

The other set, which has the little lever on the side, I'd like to mount as a 6-sp.

Several questons:

1-Is there a .pdf out there with the blow-up diagram for these?

2-Which insert is 6, which insert is 7?

3-Can I use the 6-sp with a Shimano 600 freewheel?

Thanks.

1-Dont know
2-Dont know
3- No, not with indexed levers- the gear spacing is different for campy and shimano, you can use them in friction mode

edit-the table on the link below seems to indicate that these shifters can be used with shimano compatible. unusual for campy

Amazing help, folks, and I have successfully assembled a 7-sp group onto a bike. I have also got the 6/7 done, I think, and taped it in place and put it in a ziploc, for when I install it.

It was pretty much trial and error. I was stuck for a while, thought I had the wrong shifter bosses.
A dowel and a mallet um, helped.

Now, if I can just figure out where the seat post (Campy 2-bolt) and saddle (Body Geometry) went in May, I can finish.

Thanks again, all who assisted. The tables were right on, blue for 7.

Bianchigirll, if you can, that would be great. I got a set of 8-sp in today, for another bike, and though it has fewer parts, I'm not tempting fate with the Trial and Error thing too many times.....

Again, BF proves to be the deal.
