Northern California - Condor Classic

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Nervous is normal.
I have done 18 Centuries and a Double Century and I still get nervous before every one.
Every Century has hard moments but you will always get to the other side.
If you just aren't feeling it at any point hang in there and you will get through it.
Good luck!
Warning Unsolicited Advice Ahead!!
Get lots of sleep tonight you may not get much sleep Fri Night

I looked at the new route. I think they did a better job. I only see the return leg from Pinnacles as a possible problem ~15-20 miles. Guess we'll find out when we report back Sunday!

From the Condor website:
After last year’s ride, we invited our participants to give us some comments on how to make the next Condor Classic an even better event. We received a couple of hundred responses and we read each one. We are keeping what you liked best and we made some changes to make the ride more enjoyable and safer for everyone...
...To help with the wind situation, we will be running the course in the opposite direction, which will allow the ride home to be more protected in case the wind should come up. Also by running the event the other direction, we will avoid the vehicle traffic going up Cienega grade to the Hollister Hills Off Road Park.

I'm in. I just registered.
The plan:
Leave Concord at 4:00 AM
Arrive at event at 5:45 AM
6:00 pick up ride packet
6:15 click in and go!
12:30 eat some delicious BBQ
1:00 head home
2:45 kiss the wife and kids back in Concord
This is going to be a down in the drops, tongue hanging out torque and torture run.
Time to put some late season form to good use.

I'll be fairly close by at the RenFaire at Casa de Fruta. As there were no bikes in Elizabethan England, I doubt if much riding will get done by this knave. :p
