Ok, my friend has this "motor bike", its not a real one, but its a normal MTB with a motor on the back. I'm thinking of buying it, he wants $150 for the whole thing (bike, wheels), all it needs is a crankset/bb. My question is, it can accelerate to abour 25-30 MPH without an pedaling, if I were to throw on a chain. crankset and pedals, how much faster do you think it could go? I would use this to get to school and whatnot, which is not far, but my only issue is a big hill, which it may have trouble getting up. Otherwise, the bike is really fun.

Any ideas/thoughts?

I don't know what you go any faster. You'll just be able to help the motor help you up the big hills.

You don't say whose motor kit is on it, but if it's in good running condition $150 sounds like a reasonable price... I understand that new motor kits start around 4 or 5 hundred.

If you've got the room, funds, and tinkerability to keep the mosquito fogger running and it's what you want... go for it. Tho' an RZ 350 is MUCH more fun... and you don't have to pedal :-)
