Hybrid Bicycles - Coda Sport vs Trek FX vs Spec Sirrus Geometry.

I have a Trek Navigator that lets you sit really upright (helps due to back issues). I am looking for a bike that still lets you sit somewhat upright, but not as upright as the Navigator.

Which bike has the most relaxed geometry between the Coda vs Trek FX vs Sirrus?

Also, on a side note, as Specialized done away with the Sequoia for 2010?

FX will not let you in upright position,unless you plan to ride them hands free.

Can you find one of each and ride them? That's the best way to know for sure what geometry you like.

And yes, it looks like the Sequoia is gone for 2010.

I was debating between the Trek FX 7.5 and the Sirrus Elite. I opted for the Sirrus. A tab bit more upright and it felt just a bit smoother to ride. Plus with little things on the Sirrus like the inclusion of toe clips and bar ends, it felt like a better deal despite costing like $10 more than the Trek 7.5 FX

BUT..i rode each extensively before making my decision. I suggest you do the same.

I believe the Trek 7000 series will be more upright than the FX series.

Both 7000 and FX series are hybrids,one for comfort,the other for sporty purpose.

The 2009 Sequoia and Elite versions are both available in all sizes from Specialized Canada. A Canadian dealer would just have to order one. It may be the same situation in the US. If you wanted one I would check with a Specialized dealer and find out if Specialized USA has inventory of 09's.

I have ridden an FX 7.2 (and 7.3) and just purchased a Jamis Coda Sport. Neither of these bikes is particularly upright off the rack, though you might be able to modify them a bit without jeopardizing the balance of the bike.

I was not able to locate the Sequoia on their web site for 2010, which surprised me. It's a very popular model. If you act quickly you might be able to find a leftover 2009 at a good price.

I have the base model sirrus, its a nicely upright ride, not too upright but not too bent over. Comfortable for just getting out and getting some exercise. Probably a bit more upright than either the Trek or Jamis.
