FWIW, I owned and put many, many road miles on that exact bike in a 57cm size. I bought it in 1979 for $250.00 new. It was a very nice bike, designed for the large outdoor velodome, relatively laid back angles and long wheelbase for a track bike. The seat stay caps on that bike are da kine.

Is it worth $900.00? cough, sputter, choke, I personally wouldn't pay that, but it's not my money. :)

i'm with don d. unless he's just puffing on the firm price, walk away. $900 is pretty absurd, since, i'm assuming here, that frame isn't worth that much (unless it's a serious collector's item, but still ...). you could get plenty of brand new frames built up to your specs for same price. or a pista for $550.

Nice bike, but like the above 2 have mentioned, I don't think it's worth the $900 asking price. Make the owner an offer. And damnit all to hell, this LeJeune is my size too! Looks a lot like my Miele that I'm stripping and repainting.

if it were me, i'd ask him to take one of the bar/stems out of the deal and shave some off the price. don't really need 2....

I have a crank that looks just like that, hmmm, $150? I hope so! Maybe I'll treat it a little better!

It's a nice bike. But I've bought entire px's with the Stronglight crank (albeit not the track model) for less than he claims the cranks alone are worth... the pricing seems very steep to me, although someone may pay it. It look like a late seventies French build by the lugs and Reynolds sticker. On any sort of collector's value, it doesn't seem to square for me (250$ would be about right for a complete 531 French road bike from that period). But hey, it's also New York, not Richmond, and for all I know that's the going price for an old French trackie in the big city, as opposed to the sticks down here (where you wouldn't find a track bike unless you want a new Pista). But Gah.
