Downgrade or even trade off?

I have a 1989 Cannondale road frame. Most components are Campy that are probably from the early to mid 80's. Mostly Nuovo Record (hubs, brakes, derailleurs) Crank is Chorus.

Considering Marin Verona. Haven't seen much about Marin bikes. Tried searching. This model was one of three suggested in a Bicycling "What bike should I buy?" article.

Thanks,

Bill

Marin is a good brand. My using mostly road bikes I particularly liked a CHRML. framed model, a Verona that was out some ten years ago. Since then I've seen and read of a Verona model having an Al. m. frame with a carbon rear triangle so... ??

Many brands have the "composite bikes",1/2 Al., 1/2 carbon stayed; full Al. and a very few full CHRML. (steel as it's loosely reffered to) Needs narrowing down.

I don't believe Marin is sold at bike shops. Around here they're sold at Dick's Sporting Goods and REI.

That is interesting. The dealer here is a fitness shop. I did buy one at Toga Bike Shop in New York MANY years ago.

Thanks,
