Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. something that can teach a dummy like me how to do basic tune up and general maintainence on my bike?

Yes I did download the Barnett's that is a sticky post but I have no way of printing it out at this time.

are you looking at road bikes? if so:

Road Bike Maintenance: Repairing and Maintainging the Modern Road Bicycle
by Rob Van Der Plas

isn't not bad for the price. easy enough to follow for a "dummy".

I use Bicycling Maganizine's Complete Guide to Bicycle Maintenance and Repair. I like it for it's step by step descriptions of repairs accompanied by lots of photos. And as I gain more experience with not so regular maintenance I continue to find new and usefull info inside, such as a gear inch chart.

cheers

I use the Zinn book, in my case for mountainbikes but it is mostly the same book as the one for road bikes. The only diference I could find between the two was the chapter on brakes. It has good pictures and the instructions are easy to follow. I also use Barnett's as a reference book to complement Zinn.
