Hey,
I'm thinking of getting the Nike Hautacam road shoe as the lbs has them on clearance for $99.97. they fit well, but i'm having a little bit of a problem around the mouth of the shoe. does that area eventually break-in and become softer? it kinda hurts the area above my ankle when i flex my foot upwards...no tongue like on a shimano shoe or what not...

thanks :)

I have never bought shoes hoping they will break in. In my opinion, if they are not comfortable at the start, they won't ever be. But again that is me.

Hey,

I picked up a pair at 50% off at my LBS. They were a little stiff around the top of the shoe, where a tongue would normally be. I got a little blister from them rubbing on the front of my foot(up near the ankle) but they're fine now. I have no complaints about these shoes.

I've read reviews on the net from others stating that the Hautacam's are uncomfortable there as well. Might have been on Roadbikereview.com.
