I don't know much about the details when it comes to detecting CERA, but Schumacher is citing the recent non-positive results for 08 as basis for innocence:

If he gets off, they ought to reinstate Floyd as the 2006 winner of the TdF.

I'm getting tired of hearing all this shady testing by the AFLD. These guys may have cheated but the testing agencies need to hold them selves to the highest standard. How hard can it be to implement blind testing procedures and follow them. A testing agency that appears corrupt its completely worthless.

1) It's a common tactic by the accused to slam the labs and the tests, and Schumacher's allegations of misconduct are yet to be evaluated. It tends to be rather one-sided in the media, because per the WADA code the agencies etc are not allowed to comment until the case is concluded.
2) Since when has there been "all this shady testing" by the AFLD? Normally the testing is done under the auspices of the UCI; the AFLD did the Tour de France testing in 2008 because the UCI and ASO were feuding over ProTour.
3) Schumacher also got popped for CERA at the 2008 Olympics, in retroactive tests announced April 2009. AFAIK it's a different lab. This does not prove he was using CERA at the TdF, but it's not looking good.
