we aren't members but I've seen them around and they've seemed like a pretty good group. They definately have all levels of riders which is nice... I've heard the stockton club is pretty much about racing.

If you join, let me know what you think!!

:roflmao2: Where did you hear that?

To the OP: A club is only as good as much as you put into it. Rides, helping out with events, getting to know other riders, etc. Why not join. You can always dis-join if you don't like it.

there are quite a few people up near us who ride w/them periodically and told me that the guys they ride with are more into hammering (and I'm pokey so that's not good for me )

The stanislaus club seems to have a larger range of rides based on their website.... is the stockton club the same?

okay, I take it back... just looked at the stockton website and its completely different from the last time I checked it out... apparently they've changed their whole overview of the club.... much more inviting now... ;)

I live in Riverbank. Downtown to Downtown. 5 miles max. I do alot of riding towards Turlock Lake and Knights Ferry. From Escalon to Knights Ferry and back should be a 40 miler or so....
If you ever want to head out for a ride this way send me a message.

The Stan bike club is not about racing. They have many rides for different people. They are very well organized and a great bunch of folks. A new club just started in the area that is race focussed called http://www.ciclistasdelvalle.org/

They have not updated the website since the charter meeting a few weeks ago, but if you email them they will put you on the list to let you know about the rides.

Awesome... they don't seem so skeery now that they have so many more options! :thumb:
