Had to share my joy at scoring a perfect winter bike. I've been looking on CL for a while and haven't seen anything in my super cheap price range. Someone listed a Fuji mountain bike yesterday and I drove out to look at it and other than it needing a new seat and having some scratches from being moved around their garage, its in fantastic shape so I snapped it up. Brought it home and tonight put on a seat and some fenders I had laying around and pirated the rack off my wifes bike and bingo, perfect winter bike for $60!!! The studs will cost more than the bike!

Sounds like you have the correct formula. I had an old Fuji Thrill from 1989... back when they didn't add those heavy "shock" forks. Wide tires. Triple rings. It was a natural winter bike.
