Hi folks,

I'm trying my very first mag trainer out. However, I have a setup question. The guide tells me that the drive roller should be adjusted until it compresses the tire by 3-4mm. It provides a grim-sounding warning that too much or too little compression will prematurely wear the tire out.

I'm having trouble eyeballing whether it's compressed the right amount.

So, a diagnostic questions for those who have used mag trainers with roughly the same specs as mine (it's a Minoura M80 with an 800g flywheel):

If I spin it by hand when set to the highest resistance, how freely should the back wheel spin when pressed up against the drive roller?

Many thanks!
