No, not the weight 200 (although that was a pretty sweet line for me to cross as well), but 200k. I'm going for it solo today. Gear is (mostly) packed, bike is (mostly) ready, just need to hang my lights on this morning, since I'll be starting, and most likely ending in the dark or twilight hours.

When I really started back into riding at the beginning of the season, I had no thoughts of weight loss (ok, maybe a little, but really wasn't the at the forefront of my mind), much less of riding 200k in a day. And yet, here I am, 3500 miles later, 50 some odd pounds less of me, getting ready for 200k, with over 6000ft of climbing.

Anyway, need to finish up the last minute stuff. If any wants to follow, I'll be tweeting my location while on course via droidtracker on my cell/gps.

200k was my toughest break-point to get past in my quest for really long distance. Pace yourself at the start and don't burn up too much energy early on the hills. Eat steadily and keep hydrated, watch your electrolyte levels, and have fun.
Good luck with it.

Woohoo! Made it! The route took me just over 12 hours, start to finish. Around 10 1/2 hours riding time. Managed to play the "rolling sag wagon" and helped out a few riders I met along the way, one that had already had 5 flats during his ride (talk about a bad day!), another that bonked at the base of a climb and I paced to the top so he could finish his ride (it was all downhill for him from there).

Today, r&r (relaxing and recovering) is in order.

Nice going!

Under 13h 30m puts you on the time for finishing an ACP 200k. If you enjoyed the ride, you should look at your local rando club and check out the fun.
