I originally got a new Manitou Black fork for my bike. The lockout cartridge did not work on it, so I returned it to Performance Bike. They sent me a new one, and I went to the shop yesterday to have it installed. The mechanic there said I needed a crown race from my old fork. I deidn't realize that I had left it on the 1st Black when I returned it.
So, he wants to sell me a new headset, but I really don't have the money for it right now. He said that he doesn't have any crown races availble for purchase at the shop. I found one at Airbomb.com, but I am not sure if it will be compatible with my current headset.
Will the following crown race: http://store.airbomb.com/ba/asp/ic.HD2137/ab/Itemdesc.htm be compatible with my stock Trek 4300's headset? The headset is an Aheadset, semi-cartridge, sealed. The size (1 1/8") is correct.
